There is a lot of pressure that comes with making someone's wedding cake. At least there is for me. I may have been crazy to agree to it. Not only did we have some insanely crazy travel plans this summer, but I severely sprained my ankle 4 weeks before the wedding, my husband was out of town for the week before the wedding: this meant that I was slightly limping while juggling the cake baking, decorating and my children's entertainment. Needless to say, it was a bit chaotic at my house. I am truly grateful to several friends who helped me out during the week before the wedding.
Ultimately, the cake turned out really well and the bride was pleased. This is one of the pics taken by one of the photographers. It's a really great picture!
That is really cute! Very nice. Did you put together the whole display? At first I thought it was a huge four-layer cake, and I was going to say you WERE insane!

Thanks, Vicki. I would have been insane to make a 4-layer cake!!! I baked/decorated it all, covered the boxes that created the tiers and assembled it all at the reception. The bride arranged for the flowers, but it was up to me to place them on the table attractively.
