Springtime

For years, I have said that I love warm weather.....that I can't stand the cold. As I have gotten older, I adore Autumn....the smells, the leaves, the return of casseroles and baked meals, and the chill in the air! The need for a jacket.......

Alas, I do truly love Spring.

We spend months and months in the bitter cold. There's lots of darkness, clouds and dreary days--nearly all of which are spent indoors. And then, right before our eyes: the weather gets a little warmer, we get to open the windows, the birds start to sing, flowers start to miraculously poke out of the dirt, buds form on the trees and the days get longer.

My mind perks up and my energy level increases. I am more motivated to get things done. Projects fly out of my brain and actually become tangible creations. My family gets to reap the benefits of creative new meals, new clothes, toys, curtains, bedding........whatever I am moved to create.

I love Spring.

Thank you, Lord, for your creation of the universe. Thank you for the flowers and the trees and the sun. Thank you for the gift of physical life on this earth and thank you for the eternal gift of life that comes only through your Son, Jesus.
